Dr. Nitish Mandal
First visit
The first visit with Dr. Nitish Mandal is conversation and physical examination, then a plan. Bring MRI, X-ray, or ultrasound reports if you have them, a list of tablets already tried, and discharge papers if the pain followed surgery. A procedure that day is not assumed.

Who is a pain physician?
Pain is inadequately addressed when it is treated only as a symptom. It affects sleep, work, family, and walking around your own house.
The practice puts conversation and physical examination ahead of treating a scan alone. Accurate diagnosis comes before an injection, a block, or an infusion is chosen.
What should I bring?
- MRI, X-ray, or ultrasound reports, even if someone said they were normal.
- A list of tablets and injections you have already tried.
- Discharge papers if the pain started or stayed after surgery.
Will I have a procedure on the first day?
You are heard, then examined. Imaging is used when it helps, not as a substitute for finding where the pain starts.
A diagnostic block is sometimes used when the source is still unclear after examination. For certain pain diagnoses it can clarify the source more clearly than MRI or CT alone.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a referral from an orthopaedic surgeon?
- No. You can book Koramangala or J.P. Nagar directly. Prior appointment is preferred.
- Who is a pain physician?
- A Consultant Pain Physician treats pain with diagnosis, targeted injections, blocks, and infusions, rather than with surgery as the first step. Dr. Nitish Mandal's qualifications are MBBS, MD, FIPM, and TIPM (Nashville).
- Will I have a procedure on the first day?
- Not always. Some people need only a plan. Some need a diagnostic block or a treatment the same week. That decision is made after examination.
- Is cashless insurance available?
- Not currently. You may still submit bills and prescriptions for reimbursement where your policy allows.
The first visit may end with a clear plan and no procedure that day. That is still a useful visit. Treatment is chosen after the source is identified.
