Why this pattern sticks
Back pain is common and hard to treat once it becomes chronic, often because simple dos and don'ts are skipped. Causes listed include an unsuitable mattress, improper posture, and injury. Hours of standing in the kitchen or lifting without a plan add up.
Two rules that still apply
Avoid everything that causes or increases your pain. Do not use absolute rest for weeks. Strengthen with movements that are not painful, including whole-body work that spares the sore segment.
When the pain shoots into the leg
That may be sciatica from a disc, not only a tired back. Tablets and rest may not be enough. The sciatica page explains ozone discolysis and epidural injections as non-surgical options after examination.
